Hi
We are an ISV looking to provide a LOB solution based on MS Windows and SQL Server Std via SaaS to a very limited number of small customers.
If we host our application on AWS or any other smaller IaaS provider and license Windows Server and SQL Server Std from the IaaS provider (on a “license-included” basis – i.e. under their SPLA), can we then offer our SaaS solution to our customers?  I don’t think we need our own SPLA as we are licensing all MS product from the third party DC’s SPLA?
Another way of putting it is, when we obtain Windows and SQL Server core licensed on a license-included basis, are we restricted from using that for hosting our LOB application for 3rd parties?
End users will have no direct access to the infrastructure.  The application is delivered via IIS – web browser and APIs used by a desktop application installed on-prem on the end users’ own PCs / Windows desktop.  Also, vendors supplying other products to the same customer might integrate with our application by calling https APIs exposed via IIS.
Only we, as the ISV, would have RDP access for admin purposes.
The setup would be one SQL Server on Windows with a database for each customer.  There would be a small, dedicated Windows application server for each customer.
We’re taking an application traditionally installed on-prem (on their own servers) by larger customers and looking to host it and make it available to smaller users.
Thanks.
